i thought about replying to your flames before u even posted them, but i didnt cause i didnt have the time.

tighter lag limits? i dunno, i assume that means that people get specced for high pings and ploss quicker. so just leave those people out? dont let them play? trust me, they annoy me as much as they annoy u but i wouldnt want to be in their shoes. i would say about 1 player out of 50-100 even bothers to cheat half the time in this game, and to be honest i dont really care about a number that small cause everyone lags and spikes anyway.

people with lag have a lot of problems anyway, sometimes i spike from my average 160 and i get a lot more duds then and notice that people jump.

its a minor problem, show some sac and deal with it. mods are probly doing the best they can anyway.

Lagcheating is far more prevalent than you would think gophar. It's sad but true. While I understand that more stringent lag limits could potentially punish the innocent, I'm afraid it's an unavoidable issue. You have to look at the big picture. The majority of the TW player base has an acceptable latency. Those with outrageous lag (lagcheaters and innocent players alike) are in the minority. You can't spare the few at the expense of ruining the game for the masses.

If you play once in a great while, maybe hit a few pubs now and again, perhaps it doesn't affect you all that much. For those of us who are more dedicated, it's quite a detriment. An ez way is to find all the active connection from the server and look if nobody ping the server with a lot of packet.. im sure there is a program who block the access to someone who try to ping the server during an hour..

The problem is.. we always ping the server when we play.. so we need a program who can detects if someone ping the server with an interval.. if yes.. BANNED!

Well if the person stay in the main screen of continuum.. there will be an interval because continuum ping all the server to know their ping..

btw .. to really use the ping method to lag.. we need to send a big packet well if the program can detect an interval during more than 10 minutes + if the person are sending a big packet for each ping..well.. BANNED!

The problem here is that you dont have to ping TW server itself to lag yourself down, any server will do.


Solution:

Elim lag limit = 250 ping lagout limit
Pub lag limit = 400 ping lagout limit
Lagger elim (optional) = 400 ping lagout limit

There are specific events for crippled people so they can enjoy testing their skills against other crippled people. And all are pretty happy about the system.
