    - because man called on saturday and she doesnt has shifts on weekend


    i guess these arent answers (surprisingly :P ) But one thing which is strange is that caller didnt introduce himself

          Because she IS the boss?

          Or, based on your hints, the answer is probably that she tapped a message in morse code into the receiver. Sally might be a telegraph operator, and her coworker would have been alert to that kind of message.
