I just got done watching the Karate Kid series on DVD('m at work, loads of free time) so 'm bored and thought 'd ask a few things.

What are your guys favorite things from the 80s(for those of you who remember the 80s anyway), like songs, cartoon series, movie, etc.

Mine are 99 Luft Ballons(Red Ballons), Transformers and Karate Kid/Lethal Weapon.

"There are those who said this day would never come. What have they to say now?"
    .Halo.

Y'know... if you were any stupider, I swear death by laughter would be a real medical occurance.

Off the top of my head: Top Gun, Breakfast Club, Flight of the Navigator, The Wizard, Short Circut, and Go-Bots. However, 80s music is (collectively) the worst thing. Ever.

I liked the old-school rap, before it became all about bling-bling. Grandmaster Flash, Run-DMC (RIP Jam-Master Jay), Sugar Hill Gang, etc.

But overall the 80's kinda sucked. Look at the stuff that was big back then. The hair sucked most, but the HORRIBLE bands of the 80's come in at a close second. Ratt and Poison come to mind, and I'm sure I could think of more if it wasn't 3:45 AM.

As far as TV goes, though, the 80's were untouchable. Four words: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

The 80s are more stigmatized than a one-legged black orphan hermaphrodite. That decade was just trying too hard to be cool, I guess.

Pretty much whatever everyone else mentioned.

Add to that, CIA cocaine, Sixteen Candles, The Cure, Dead Kennedys, a mostly crack-free hood, fairness in media laws, and Montana to Rice.

Edit: Shit, how could I forget...and a black Michael Jackson who hadn't yet become a pedophile lunatic.
