I made this thread which i accidently really started in emaho's thread about the game music she wanted. Nevertheless, what is your favorite video game song?

Mine is To Zanarkand from FFX. My second favorite would have to be J.E.N.O.V.A. by The Black Mages. Thirdly, 1000 Words by Jade of sweetbox from FFX-2. Yeah, im a Final Fantasy kid :P

Actually, that (http://zardo.us/dl.php?file=mc1.mpg) triggers some serious flashbacks.

For a few years in middle school, I had a big (international) Noise Conspiracy thing going on, and one of their songs reminded me SO MUCH of I think the second level of F-Zero (Blue Ocean? Big Blue? Something like that)

I forget the name of the TINC song as well, but i'm pretty sure it was "only lovers left alive" as we speak, i'm going to download and figure it out.

Anyways, F-Zero was my personal "come home every day after elementary school and try to beat it" game, so yeah, I'm a big fan. Green ship/Pink ships were the money, though towards the end (read: before my nanny's house burned down and with it, my hopes and dreams and F-Zero) I warmed up the yellow ship, that sliding bastard

I also tend to judge people on how they spent their "triple S", I think people who save all 3 and use them at the end are better

edit: fuck while i'm barelling down memory lane, i fucking hated those weird bumpers that sort of sucked you in and then stole youe energy. and the (pavement so intelligently dubbed them) "brain cars". and the winter levels.

1. Big Blue
2. I never strayed from the blue ship (i think it's called the blue falcon..the gold is called the golden fox and the green one has the word "goose" in the name..wild goose i think).
3. Those bumpers are the worst.
4. I still have a super nintendo and we play F-Zero all the time.

I find for time trials, pink is the best. Pavement liked the blue ship, and I liked green (the yellow got a boost off the starting line, though)

I'm about to leave to New Mexico, and I downloaded a ROM/emulator, and I've been having a blast. I have an SNES, but not F-Zero :( The bumpers I have are on Port City II (is there a 1?)

edit: nvm 1 is on queen hardness

You all are wrong. Best song from a game ever is the hyperspace background music from Star Control 2.
Original: http://www.medievalfuture.com/precursors/music/modules/HYPER.MOD
3DO remix: http://council.ofdoom.com/music/SC2/hyper.ogg
All other remixes I've seen have pretty much sucked though.
For forum mods and such, those are released to public domain. Or similar.

Being the nerd that I am (I had an Atari 2600 controller in my hand at age 2), I have too many favorites to list, but I'll name a few notables:

Silent Hill 2 - "True": A beautiful piano piece, very moody.
Final Fantasy 8 - "Eyes on Me": No explanation needed, I think just about everyone's heard this.
Super Mario 64 - "Dire, Dire Docks": I used to sit at Jolly Roger Bay's entrance point for hours to listen to this.
Armored Core - "Circulation": Not sure about the title, it's from the original game's opening level. Honorable mention goes to "Complete Physical" and "X-Axis". The music from this entire series is awesome.
Star Ocean 2/Valkyrie Profile - "Mission to the Deep Space": Yeah, these two games shared a handful of songs, and this was the best of them. Motoi Sakuraba is right up there with the best composers in the industry.
Zelda: Ocarina of Time/A Link to the Past - Kakariko Village: Enough said.
SaGa Frontier - "Devin": Just to close the list out with some cheesy carnival-like music. And for the record, I like this game and anyone who disagrees (which is apparently every video game critic on the planet) can blow me.

I may add more as I remember them.
