I am. It's a local festival for me so it makes sense to go.

That is one fucking awesome line up of bands. The mainstage really doesn't look that great, but it makes me wish I lived in the UK. (Actually not really, because most decent bands make rounds through NJ.) And shade, I agree festivals tend to suck, pretty much because half hour sets suck.

Heh, exactly what I thought.

EDIT: While we're at it--THIS IS A PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT: IRON MAIDEN, PLEASE RETIRE.They are still a very popular band, and they still sell out shows in both the USA and Europe... Unlike a lot of older bands, they still put out good records and still sell a lot.

Highlights of my weekend:

Watching Dave Grohl take to the drums at Reading for the first time since Nirvana '92
Nine Black Alps and the Dead 60's
Having a 40 minute shower about half an hour ago having lived in a field for 4 nights, and texting everyone to tell them about it
Queens Of The Stone Age playing The Fun Machine Took A Shit And Died, which was going to be on the new record until someone stole the tapes, so I finally got to hear it. Then I log onto the forums and Mr Peanuts had sent me a pm with a link to that song, when I had logged onto the computer especially to see if I could download it from anywhere! That was a mindfuck
Drinking an obscene amount of beer. Between myself and the guy I went with (I also went with Tigerex and his girlfriend) we demolished 4 crates of beer in 4 nights, plus he did a lot of whiskey and I did a litre of red wine on the last night too. I would have had the whiskey had I not have been sober at the time and the whiskey wasn't £10 Cheapy McNasty whiskey, which will probably solve our impending fuel crisis
NOFX's onstage banter ("So I read in this week's NME that Bruce Dickenson from Iron Maiden intends to blow all the indie bands off-stage." "Is that 'blow them off the stage', or 'blow them, off stage'?")
Nearly dieing from the explosion and subsequent mushroom cloud after someone chucked their deodorant on the fire to get it going. That campsite was like Vietnam
Seeing Pete Doherty off his tits in the flesh
Recieving numerous free hugs with love as we walked around the camp-site
Bloc Party closing the festival. Just...
Not expecting the Arcade Fire to be that good. I just went along because I've got the cd and was blown away. The best bits being the two percussionists, who at one point put helmets on and beat each other round the head with drum sticks, then just beat each other with drum sticks, and one of the percussionists tieing his tie to the other one via his guitar and struggling to walk off stage afterwards
Missing Juliette and the Licks because we met two guys dressed as clowns and helped them try to sell people shots of beer to passers by
Managing to see two of my favourite bands who don't often travel, NOFX and Bad Religion. You can't deny your first loves.
The Foo Fighter's set including green laser show and 100,000 very happy, jumpy people

So far only I've only sent that song off the vinyl to you and Rudy, what did you think of their keyboardist?

She looked like she'd bite my neck if I fell asleep

Mr. Peanuts

I couldn't hear any anything she was supposedly playing at Brixton, it looked like she'd glued her fingers to the keyboard and was trying to pull them off. She looked like Mary off Big Brother.

It was ITV2 not BBC3 and it was all Iron bloody Maiden

ROCK FACT: Iron Maiden's singer Bruce Dickenson is a trained pilot and flies for some small shitty airline, Jetair. My dad works out in Equatorial Guniea in Africa and flies Jetair, and Bruce regularly flies my dad there and back

I went last year and it was great, particularly Green Day.

My friend went this year, and he said MM was awesome, which surprised him as he wasn't really into any of MM's music, so that's pretty cool.
