Benelux vs West USA
136296 - 62831
MVP: PistolePaultje!

Thanks to all who have participated in this season. Thanks to Jacklyn for her help. And most importantly, congrats to Benelux for continuing to be a great bunch of guys and worthy BWC Champions!

ok, so these guys win way too much, and it's honestly mostly because of the lag they're packin'

why don't we just rename this whole shindig to the "Benelux Wins Cup" and be done with it?

Dabram

this final i couldn't show up, but i knew it wouldn't matter much, because we have more than enough talent to win this. gj pistolepaultje (i don't even know this guy, which says everything bout our depth)

maybe next year make it one game: Benelux vs the rest of the world. We'll win just as easy though..

Actually interest was minimal. You know staff doesn't care about it at all when they decide to host staff v. world turretwarz right in the middle of it. They got mad at Rab for not delaying finals until the end of their all important turretwarz match. Ikrit, my team's assistant, couldn't come because of a staff meeting. So basically they ended their staff meeting, and couldn't wait 20 mins to start their turretwarz match. If you want to get people involved in a 3 week long event maybe don't expect players to wait for one game of turretwarz, as bwc was scheduled all week to start at a specific time. And if you do this next year, perhaps make some attempt at actually advertising the BWC, hell, maybe stop using the rosters from 5 years ago and make people sign up. Half my team doesn't even live in america anymore. 2 other players who DID sign up for my team never were responded to from Rab and had to play on the team they played on in past years.

I figured people were not likely to move house, therefore didn't see any harm in leaving them on the rosters. If there's a demand for starting rosters fresh, then of course i'll do that.

I think we all expected the meeting to be over before BWC. The game of Turretwarz I wasn't bothered about because there are more than enough players to spread around. I don't expect everyone to come and watch BWC games, they're really just for participants imo.

Jacklyn had some technical issues which interfered with advertising, I will advertise more next season.

The BWC is not a rival to TWD, it's not supposed to reach out to all players, simply those who want to represent their countries in a game which runs a slightly different format. I think it's fun, and it will continue while there's sufficient interest to successfully run a season.

Any more feedback is welcome in this thread.

i got hundreds of emails, there was interest.
was it just the rotw 2nd round team and the western canadian 1st round teams that didn't show enough? just curious.

i also find it interesting that you received hundreds of e-mails when our zone struggles to break the 500 mark nowadays. were there even one hundred people in the bwc arena during the final at any point? when i was there, there were fifty.

It proves that splitting Canada was a bad idea.

Also, I have to say that you are highly exaggerating about getting "hundreds of emails" about BWC this season, unless you count it as an email each time someone registered, and even then I doubt there was hundreds.

Well that is a miracle then, because when I was on TWL staff 1-2 years ago, there was maybe 20 emails tops.

And letsget rid of ROTW and make those losers move to a real continent.

how can you say it was a success tho when its obvious the population is reducing every season and this time there were several teams that didnt show enough players?

BWC is a waste of time

first of all, we don't have anywhere near an even distribution of players around the globe

second, benelux, or whatever other laggy fucking euro team out there, always wins the shit

if you want to do this right

have western hemisphere cup (exclude the laggy brazilian fuckers like mega newbie though)

then have eastern hemisphere cup

so what if we have two winners, at least that way the true talent ends up winning and not just the laggiest players

that post was just bitter and stupid tho jason ^_^

Jason
09-28-2006, 06:57 PM
bitter? yes. it gets very tiresome losing to laggy euros (or just lag-asses in general) all the time. you play mambo in a bd lately? jesus christ, they might as well be getting shield prizes.

stupid? no. as far as i'm concerned, bwc is a waste of time. interest in it drops more and more every year. it's not really even all that much fun. it's headed the way of twdt.

p.s. you still have a yellow cell phone? just curious.

Dabram
09-28-2006, 08:26 PM
haha! we're just 10 times better than any other nation.

just thank us for never forming a TWL squad together, then TWL would've died out aswell.

maybe next time force BNL to play 7v8.

wait, we'd still win because we lag so much more than the rest of the world, except mega newbie.
