This thought just came up, maybe a usefull one:

in hosted arena's there are always questions of people who just entered the arena. Such as "who is the host? " "Are we playing Hunt or just random deathmatch" etc.

There is a function on the twbots, !host, to figure out who the host is. New people don't know that this command excist, and there is no documentation for players so they could know.

This is were my idea comes in: Let the TWBots have the function to (temporarily) set the greeting message for the arena wich they are in. So you automatically get the basic information for the game, wich everyone will see who enters the arena. For Example:

- Random deathmatch till 10 is currently being played. Your Current host is: EventRef <ER>

- Prodem is beginning shortly with your host: EventRef <ER>

Maybe this can be autogenerated, or must be put in manually. I like to hear you ideas or suggestions so maybe this function could be added!

Greetings,

Yah, this can easily be solved if we get a semi-normal-not lazy-know what they are doing - staff, but we have a we are too lazy- so we make it in the bots - staff. All they have to do is set it to something as simple as R Shift + F1.

Also, excellent idea Rodge. Although I'm not sure if it's possible -- the bots would have to have sysop status, has sysops are the only ones that can edit game settings within Continuum, which is what the greeting is. I don't think DoCk> would be willing to share his power with a bot. :p

Hi Qbe,

Thanks for your input! If i'm correct, the twbots already have the Sysop status. For example, opening the doors, that is also a setting. So that wouldn't be the problem :)

Hmmm... didn't think of that. I'd e-mail DoCk> or someone a little higher up on the staff pyramid to bring it to their attention instead of just leaving it in the forums.

Maybe i will do that Qbe.. For now I do believe that this forum is to bring new ideas to the staff, upper or lower. Otherwise i'm beginning to doubt why this forum is here..

Ok...instead of getting complicated and changing the welcome message. Why not just make it so TWBot PM's anyone who enters the arena? Just like Robo Ref does in (base)elim.

So let's say little old MYL came into deathmatch. I would be PM'ed by TWBot who is host and what they are playing. Now keep in mind, the TWBot won't be able to distinguish between Caps and Multi and Random, but it would know if Hunt or Conquer or someother TWBot run game is being hosted ...

Just my *improvement* to your idea. Good idea tho...

Thanks for the suggestion MYL, if it is easier to program it that way, then by all means!
