i was on melee years ago and i always pronounced it "mee-lee" but a while back i listened to an old trench center episode where concrete schoolyard pronouned it "may-lay".

I play a game called Asheron's Call and have been playing it since 1999. In the game there's a skill called "Melee Defense". It was a new word to me so I pronounced it like it looked, Mee-lee. But about a year later someone corrected me and said it's "May-lay" but now I just pronounce it "Mee-lay"

I had a fight with Randedl about 6 years ago over this exact same subject. I incisted that it was May-Lay, but he cussed me like a sailor and stuck with thinking it was Mee-lee. I hope he reads this and says something mean. Shows that i got to him.SSCU Trench Wars Moderator
