  • TWDT HOT OR NOT -- WEEK 6

    TWDTD

    dun vs me vs. Kamikaze
    50-42

The dunvsmeans outlasted Kamikaze in a tough fought wb match, as okyo (18-8) went Frank Castle on Skatarius's squadron, leading Rough (12-9), turban (8-9), Henry Saari (7-7) and negative nancy beam (5-9) to the promised land.

On the losing side, Best (13-10) and Auger (11-10) did everything to keep the ship afloat, but couldn't carry the likes of Singer (8-10), Kyou (5-10), and Markmrw (5-10).

HOT: Okyo, with a sizzling 18-8!
NOT: beam, with an atrocious 5-9 on the winning team. Good job letting Henry Saari and a pair of javs outkill you, you worthless fuck.

Here you can see Beam's wb career matches the 1929 Stock Market Crash. Make note of TWL 17, where he negged the season while on the TWLD Champions Pandora, and lost his wb spot to Cape, Amputate, and Spezza -- none of whom are actual warbirds.

    ---

    Sour Milk vs. Kusoge
    50-38

The Milkmen ousted Kusoge with a balanced showing from Cres (13-8), diakka (12-8), Rab (10-3), Skepsis (9-9), and Izor (6-10).

The Bad Gamers, led by Ricko (10-10), couldn't muster enough firepower to stop Cranium's brainy squad as JAMAL (9-10), dreamwin (8-10), TheWadoRooster (7-10) and Undercut/Bueno (2-10) fell short.

HOT: Crescent Seal, with a strong 13-8. A crescent seal is also on the Moon Door in the Eyrie in Game of Thrones, which Cres apparently used to shove Undercut out of.
NOT: Bueno, with a disastrous 0-5. On the bright side, you played so fucking badly you can just tell people you were afk. Bueno can be used as an interjection in Spanish, maybe next week someone can interject and stop Undercut from adding you in wb.

    ---

    Power vs. Oblivion
    50-45

This was a close affair, as the Oblivionites pushed the Powergonians to the brink, with 6-star Cripple (12-10) leading the near-upset, ahead of Fate (9-10) and Wax (9-10) narrowly missing parity, next to BIET (7-10) and Shadowmere/torcher (7-10).

Ease (16-8) was having none of it, going Yul Brynner in Westworld on them, as the Crichtonian nightmare descended upon them with aplomb, finishing off Oblivion alongside fellow malfunctioning manlike machine Iron Survivor (10-7), as 5-star Shaddowknight continued to impress with an 11-10, carrying sub-par performances from zidane (6-10) and framinator (6-10).

HOT: Ease, with a sinister 16-8.
NOT: torcher, with a crappy 3-6. The only thing you torched in that game was your squad's playoff aspirations.

    ---

    Tool vs. Unleash
    50-32

Apok decimated Unleash with a monstrous 22-8, carrying Tripin (10-4), Lasenza (7-2), Lee (6-8), and aprix (5-10) on his enormous shoulders.

For The Unleashed, fellow Fiercite Casket (10-10) did his best against his squadmates, admirably breaking even, but couldn't save the likes of wbm (8-10), tj hazuki (6-10), Quart/solemn (6-10) or Geio (2-7).

HOT: Apok, with an SSJ2-like 22-8!
NOT: Geio, with an abysmal 2-7. You could have played on TJ Hazuki's name again and no one would have noticed. *TJ SLAM!* #GotEm #FierceBasing #FreeMighty

    TWDTJ

    Tool vs. Oblivion
    50-39

Apok continued his assault on TWDT, notching an outstanding 18-8, pillaging the Oblivionites while salting their fields as well, most likely, for the Pok knows no mercy.

Tripin (10-8) continued his solid jav play this season, alongside Spawnisen (6-7), Lee (7-8), and aprix (6-8).

On the losing team, torcher (10-10) put in a solid performance in his main ship, with solid outings from Zazerick (8-10) and frightful (8-10), but not enough out of multiple HOT player Wax (5-10) and 6-Star Reckful (6-10).

    HOT: Apok the Destroyer (18-8).

NOT: Wax (5-10), with a horrendous performance in javelin. Good one week, bad the next. Haven't seen this much of a week-to-week shift since Nicholas Cage's hairline.

    ---

    Power vs. Sour Milk
    50-39

Tsunami (14-6) came out guns-a-blazin' for the second week in a row, leading Zidane (12-8), Ease (9-8), Iron Survivor (7-7), and Shaddowknight (6-10) to the W.

The Milkmen put in a fairly balanced performance, but collectively fell short as Cres, euforia, and Noobius all dropped 8-10s, with Skepsis (7-10) and Rab (6-10) not far behind.

HOT: Tsunami (14-6), with his second HOT in as many weeks. Kudos!
NOT: There weren't really any bad performances, so I'll give it to Cranium, for missing the majority of the last three weeks. Every ship needs a captain, even if he finishes 2nd in TWL every year!

    ---

    dun vs me vs. Kusoge
    50-40

The dunvsmeans achieved the rarest of feats, winning a jav match without a single player hitting 10 kills, as Henry Saari (9-6), turban (9-8), Rough (9-8), hulk (9-9), Kate Upton (7-9) and Okyo (4-0) clipped the Bad Gamers 50-40.

Bueno (11-10) had another strong week in jav, but was unable to resuscitate JAMAL (8-10), Dreamwin (7-10), TheWadoRooster (5-10), or Ricko (1-6).

HOT: dun vs me, with a balanced and concerted team effort. Haven't seen this much team unity since Ayn Rand's Anthem, where the concept of individuality is eliminated. Other thing it eliminated: my desire to ever read Ayn Rand again. *Ayn Rand Slam!* #AtlasTugged #FreeMighty
NOT: Ricko, with an unseemly 1-6. Peeyew!

    ---

    Kamikaze vs. Unleash
    50-33

Stayon (18-9) went The Dark Knight on Commodo's squad, treating The Unleashed like Harvey Dent's face, as Auger (11-7) and Singer (11-4) were Robin to his Batman, while maketso (8-3) made up for Markmrw's 1-10.

Despite Casket (2-5), Commodo (8-10), Dutch Baser (2-10), Last Standing (3-5), TJ Hazuki (0-4) and wicket666 (0-6) combining for an insanely atrocious 15 kills between the six of them, Mighty went absolutely postal and dropped a massive 16-10, despite being devoid of teammates.

HOT: Stayon, with a massive 18-9
HOT: Mighty, with sumptuous 16-10 despite a horrible loss
NOT: TJ Hazuki/Wicket666 for an amazing combined 0-10. That is not a typo. Zero kills. Zero. The Mayans invented the concept of 0. They used it for their calendar, which predicts the end of the world in 2012, the year your teammates wish you both had stopped playing subspace.

      TWDTB

      Unleash vs. dun vs me
      15:00-7:24

Unleash pulled off the biggest upset of the TWDT-B season, notching their first basing win of the year against one of its best squads, and by a whopping 8 minutes, and keeping their playoff hopes mathematically alive.

Oder (90-49, 4 Teks) led a contingent of Sphinx (81-31), TJ Hazuki (75-55),and wbm (70-49) in spider, behind strong terring from Casket (20-3) and clutch sharking from Commodo (3.0 RPD, 2 Teks) and Geio (3.0 RPD).

In a hugely embarrassing defeat, Henry Saari (87-41) led the vanquished dunvsmeans alongside Kate Upton (85-46), Kosmonaut (60-53) and Rough (57-52) in spider, with hulk (2.7 RPD) and okyo/Kosmo (2.3 RPD) in shark, and a disheartened Davy (26-12) in terr.

      Ouch!

HOT: Oder, with a red-hot 90-49 and a whopping 4 Teks. Nice work!
NOT: Rough (57-52), who had an even worse score than Kosmonaut, despite the fact he sharked part of the game. Alongside your 58-57 in TWBD today, you've once again proven what a horrible baser you are. Then again, with the slim margins in the restaurant world maybe you think you're actually doing well. Fkin' t-rex.

      ---

      Power vs. Kusoge
      15:00-7:00

Solacer (98-37) led this curb-stomping of Kusoge, ahead of NL>Trigger (80-34), fram (79-37), and Shaddowknight (66-30, 4 Teks) spider, with Ease (55-46, 9 Teks) in wb, Zidane (3.2 RPD) and FFE (3.1 RPD) in shark, and Clausy (20-4) in terrier.

For the Bad Gamers, Bueno led their spider with a 76-41, ahead of Undercut (68-38), Ricko (51-32), TheWadoRooster (63-40), and bwp (53-50), with JAMAL (3.0 RPD) and McVicar (2.9 RPD) in shark, ahead of Dreamwin (20-17) in terr, who will have nightmares of Ease in warbird swooping in to tek him for several weeks (TW Council has approved a Group Therapy session for terriers who've been abused by Ease).

      HOT: Solacer, with a nirvana-like 98-37!
NOT: Ricko, with a nirvana cover band-like 51-52! When the 5-Star you borrowed from the opposing team is outkilling you, you know it hasn't been your week! Like Icarus you flew too close to your HOT OF THE WEEK, and it all came falling down like a house of cards. Checkmate!

This is definitely going to hurt your book sales:

      ---

      Oblivion vs. Sour Milk
      15:00-13:10

Oblivion clinched the toughest and most exciting basing match of the week, narrowly edging out Sour Milk as these juggernauts went toe-to-toe.

Cripple (140-51) put his team on his shoulders and kept their playoff hopes alive and well, carrying them in their strongest league with a massive performance, ahead of 6-Star superstar Reckful (100-45), BIET (84-53), Wax (75-86), and frightful (66-49) in spider.

Pressure put on an impressive 44-5, 2 Tek performance to anchor the team, as nokkonen (2.9 RPD) and torcher (2.6 RPD) kept him alive, with some sharking from Wax as well.

This was a tight, hotly contest, back-and-forth match, with diakka (42-7, 1 Tek) also putting in a monster terrier outing, ahead of the best 6-Star sharking duo in TWDT, BongHits (3.1 RPD) and Knockers (2.9 RPD), with Noobius (113-41) leading the charge in spider, alongside Rab (96-45), Skepsis (93-49), euforia (75-69), and wicket666 (66-81).

      Nice play from both teams!

HOT: cripple, with a torrential 140-51 to carry his team to a crucial victory.
HOT: Pressure, with a big 44-5, 2 tek game to keep it all together

      ---

      Kamikaze vs. Tool
      15:00-3:03

Kamikaze razed the Tooltimers in their weakest league, decimating Zizzo's squadron with a massive 15-3 curb-stomping.

DOWNFALL (75-32) led the sortie in spider, ahead of 5-Star Markmrw (52-31), Singer (49-27), maketso (47-21), and M_M God (43-26), with pinkstar (2.9 RPD) and Vatican Assassin (3.2 RPD) in shark, and Stayon going 15-1 in terr.

On the losing side, gilder did his best with a 58-32, with Apok coming back down to earth with a 56-31, Jack (51-45), Lee (44-31) and Lasenza (42-20). Warportal terred with a 16-7, behind awful sharking from Tripin (2.2 RPD) and Spawnisen (2.5 RPD).

HOT: Vatican Assassin and Pinkstar, bullying inferior sharks, notching 2 Teks, not to mention Vati's monstrous 3.2 RPD, wowza!
NOT: Tripin and Spawnisen, who were easily the worst shark combo this week, with Tripin notching a TWDT 2014 record-low 2.2 RPD. That's a full rep less than Vati every death... I'm amazed anyone on your team is positive.

          WEEK 6 STANDINGS

Power clinched the #1 seed with a perfect 3-0 this week, earning a bye into the semis. The #2 and final bye spot is still up for grabs, as dun vs me went 2-1 this week for sole possession of the second, with 11 wins.

Kamikaze and Tool also went 2-1 this week, tied for 3rd with 10 wins apiece, only 1 back of dun vs me.

Sour Milk is smack in the middle of the standings, and could finish anywhere between 2nd to 7th, depending on how the final week of the regular season goes. They went 1-2 and are alone in 5th with 8 wins.

Kusoge had a rough week, going 0-3 and leaving them in a dogfight with Sour Milk and Oblivion to get into the playoffs, as they sit by themselves in 6th with 7 wins.

Oblivion won a crucial basing match to secure themselves a win this week, remaining in 7th but climbing to within one of Kusoge with 6 wins, and with favorable tiebreakers will have good chances next week to make the playoffs.

Meanwhile, despite a huge upset victory in TWDTB, Unleash, while mathematically alive, have a brutal Week 7 schedule and need to go 3-0, and are, for all practical intents and purposes, eliminated, barring a miracle.

          ---

          Conclusion

WEEK 7, the final week of the TWDT Regular Season, should be really exciting and fun, with 3 squads all within 1 win of each other duking it out for the all-important bye into the Semi-Finals by finishing #2, and 3 squads within 2 wins of each other fighting for their lives and trying to claim the final two playoff spots.

Even the outliers (Power, Unleash) who have don't really have much at stake can play spoiler to the other six squads, so it should be entertaining, to say the least.

          See you next Sunday!
