Phone notifications for TWD/events/base/wbduel/javduel/hockey/elim

We're in the process of testing phone/desktop/browser notifications for TWD/events/base/wbduel/javduel/hockey/elim, implemented via PushBullet, a free, award-winning notifications suite.

Supported phones: Android, iPhone, Windows phone, Blackberry
Supported others: PC/Mac/Ubuntu desktop, iPad, Firefox, Chrome, Opera, Safari

I think the notification people will want to see the most is TWD, but that's also the most complicated (24 is working on code that lets you reply to indicate if you are able to play in a game), so it will come last.

In the meantime, to build up the hype a bit, I wanted to let you guys know about the phone notifications we do have available for testing right now... which is to say, everything else.

Interested?

1. Go to the link of the channel you want to join (see below). NOTE: You can also just view these in-browser without signing up by clicking the links.
2. Click FOLLOW
3. Sign in with Google or FB account. (NOTE: This will *not* be visible to anyone else on the channel, including TW staff. It's used purely for authentication with the PushBullet service.)
4. Install the app you want to use from https://www.pushbullet.com/apps

5. You will now receive phone notifications for that channel. Check settings to silence them.

Channels

A notification for every event as it starts. No repeat notifications. Title is arenaname, advert text is the description.

A notification whenever captains have been selected/game is beginning. Max 1 every 30 min for each channel. Shows captain names.

Elim: https://www.pushbullet.com/channel?tag=twelim
Shows type of elim and number of deaths. In the future, should only send a notification when an elim game has not been played in the last hour (still in testing).

If you have problems, questions, or have any suggestions for something in TW you'd like to see a notifications channel for, let me know. Now that we have the base code in it's pretty easy to add the functionality to any of the bots.

Trying this out right now, big props to qan and the TW staff for stepping up and doing something the zone truly needed.

Edit: Yeah I can't tell if it's working or not because nothing is going on atm, I'll wait for later in the day.
Edit2: Unless the app is really smart tracking my entire web history from the Google account I connected with it and filtering off events hosted by Shadowmere because I won't play in them, something is wrong with the app. I cannot receive push notifications outside of the app.

Have tried using it on my Windows Phone. Only seems to work with Pushile (which is free), there rest of the pushbullet apps don't seem to work on for windows phone (well my one anyway).

Yeah, the push notifications officially don't work on iOS 8.4
I'll try to figure out a different way like rerouting the Firefox notifications to my phone or something because I'd really like to participate in TW events whenever they are being hosted.
Will post details on how I got it to work if I ever do for future reference.

Meanwhile if someone has a different idea, please do let me know.

There is a do not disturb option on the iphone you can block all notifications from timex hr to y hr
i am sure androids got it as well

works on Iphone / IOS9, BUT: only when you open the app, which is annoying, also elim notifications don't show either.
