Did you burn it as MP3 files, or CDA files (CDA is the files read on a CD player)? Check if you did, because some players cannot handle MP3 (mostly older players). Also, burn it at a lower speed. I recommend 2x. Any higher and compatability becomes an issue. For example, I have a newer mini stereo. I can burn my CD's at 8x and it will still run. However, on my dad's (about 5 years old) cannot. Cheaper stereos and CD players also cannot handle that speed.

Depends what CD burning software you are using. Best bet is to read the help section of the software you use.

I use Nero and it offers to choose speed and number of copies each time before burning. It also allows to burn mp3 files as Music CD without need to convert.

Hmm... you might want to see if you closed the burning process. When making music CDs you have to do that before conventional CD players can read them. Pop that CD you burnt back in the computer, open your recording software and try to close the session. If that was the problem, you should still be able to do that.
