  • Got a Problem with President Bush? Sue Him!

    http://msnbc.msn.com/id/14020234/?GT1=8307

WASHINGTON - A powerful Republican committee chairman who has led the fight against President Bush’s signing statements said Monday he would have a bill ready by the end of the week allowing Congress to sue him in federal court.

“We will submit legislation to the United States Senate which will...authorize the Congress to undertake judicial review of those signing statements with the view to having the president’s acts declared unconstitutional,” Judiciary Committee Chairman Arlen Specter, R-Pa., said on the Senate floor.
Sounds Awesome. It's about time we allowed Congress the power over Bush. I'm tired of his "we're at war, so I get executive powers to do whatever I want" bullcrap.

      Reminds me of Nixon's Watergate.
Both wanted to push the powers of the presidency above its limits.
Then congress steps in. The end.

      This is a repeat!

              1. He won the election.
              2. He proved himself to be an asshole.
              3. You voted for him again.

Wow Arlan Specter is supporting that? He nearly lost his spot in the judiciary commitee and had to basically beg the Republicans to keep it. I bet this is really some secret ploy by Republicans to stand any chance against the Democrats in the next election. In fact... I bet Bush is in on this whole thing because right now, the Republicans in congress will be bent over the table because of the bad image Bush is giving the party.

As far as Bush being kicked out of office, that isn't going to happen... he'll make it all 8 years, the Republicans are just going to push it far enough so they can keep their seats in this election... the whole lawsuit will mysteriously vanish soon.
