    • 3 ways to change basing for the better.
but only one solution to our problem.
      first the 3ways:
1st way: let us use 8 fuckin ships, why have levis and weasels obsolete. lancs arent very far behind them in uselessness.

2nd way: change the map (or just the cram entrance)

3rd way: Have twlb one map, twlb2 a different map, twlb3 a different map, and twlb4 a different map. in TWLB, use one of the 4 maps randomly, forcing squads to play every map equally during the twd season. leaving way for MULTIPLE strategies (have the finals play one match in each map, and a random pick if there needed to be a 5th match.)

but the only solution is for P_L to just post up a vote with like 5 different options like:
      1 - twd/twl stays the same
2 - change ship settings for levi and weasel
      3 - change map settings
4 - create multiple maps to twd/twl on
      5 - options 2&3
      6 - options 2&4

until smehting like that hppens nothign will change. if someone starts a petition ill sign it.

      • No change, cram is sufficiently safe and sufficiently easy to break....

It's safe enough to favour the defending team which is how it should be...

...but it's weak enough for a good jav to break (someone like nockm or domi will almost always get a bomb in a cram).

Also think about a stacked dice line with their aggressive spids and solid sharks....that line is getting in that base 9 times out of 10 within a reasonable amount of time...

This is the wrong season to be talking about this aswell with the likes of diso playing 2 specials.

Let basing diversify naturally as it always has done.

        • Ok wth since its a chance to change the base I will throws some lernin at ya {intentional misspell}

first is old school hasn't changed much for damn near a decade then there is 1st grade something I toyed with and ditched a while back then there is high school where it less safe and more aggressive both ways and dont forget redneck open fire on your butt skoolz {intentional misspell} where there will be mayhem and allow for action at all times both ways kinda sounds like a good porn movie but anyway thats what you get at 3:30 am

Edit: for those who don't read the post these are 4 different crams not dual entrances

although i wouldn't mind to see slightly different maps (no 2 entrance bullshit, that will completely ruine basing as a semi-serious league), i agree pretty much with this.

99% of the ppl whining about a mapchange are very stellar players who have never dared to play with anything else but 5 spiders. if you're too afraid to make your own gameplans and just copy what the best squad is doing, how the hell do you expect to win? if a team is better at one strategy, using the exact same strategy to battle it will result in a loss 9/10 times (the 1/10 times is when they do not give a shit (ie dice losing a few regular season games))

some mapchanges will just make basing utter chaos and will make it unable to control any fight (with a bad map, if the terr dies he'll get in no matter what, having one big flagroom fight all game might sound nice, but will just result in people whining they got unlucky about getting less flagtime or w/e and then demanding more flags or w/e shit ppl come up with next to get a chance of winning)

just accept that this is a competitive game in which some players (squads) are simply a lot better than the others, and just like in dueling and javs that makes for very boring games. maybe in the first year of cramming, a weak squad could win games vs far better squads because of a solid cram, these days the good squads learnt how to attack crams and walk right through crams from weaker squads, simply because they're better.

so yes, mapchanging isn't a bad idea, i especially like the idea of a set of slightly different maps so teams have to adjust their game every week), but do not try to make mapchanges so it suddenly evens out the odds for all squads to win, make mapchanges so it's still a game of teamwork in defending and attacking (not just of hoping for the best in half an hour of chaos).

            • REMOVE ALL SHIPLIMITS!

The lousy restrictions are what's keeping basing from becoming a great sport. Why change the lev and weasel when you COULDN'T EVEN USE one if you wanted to.

              • ^ they should be free to use, but i still wouldn't use them. they're levi/lanc/weasel are inferior ships in basing. they can't keep up with the fast-paced action. big loss to whoever would use them.

                • well i didnt read alot of posts so i dont really know what points are being made, but i agree with bram completly, keep in mind this is still a defend/attack game, i prefer flagroom battles but creating a huge flagroom battle will just be a huge mess, rarely when i play pub, those flag room fights are fun but they are chaotic and unorganized, sure in a twlb game a flagroom fight isnt unorganized, but those changes in the base will make cram hard to defend. Im not a cram defender, when i started people lined until the cram came, they changed the spawn time to 3 seconds to make the cram weaker but infact it only made it stronger, as for the objective of the game, it was changed from 30m to point race, then to a time race, changes were made and the cram is still here, why because its the best defense but within the basing scenery right now you can adopt alot of gameplays and stategies to help your team attack the cram, defend it, and on flagroom fights also.

For example, myself, I changed my way of playing over the years why? because the game changed, and even thought the cram is still here, i had to adjust myself to my squad and the game's needs. My point is, its you that have to perfect your way of playing and adjust yourself to what is given to you, its not the game that has to be change to the people's needs. If you want you can look at this just like football, the game is the same for way more than a century now, but theres so many different ways to play it, and most of the times the best team always win.

Minor changes in the base are one thing, but changing it in a drastic way is another, imagine now you change the base in a way cram is no longer playable, yes new defenses and newer strategies will come and weaker squads will have a better chance, but eventually the best defense will be used and most if not all people will start using it because they want to win, and the best squads, because they are just better will dominate again, and that doesnt take alot of time to happen and im talking about a few months and then we enter the same cycle again.

So remember you either do some minor changes or do something drastic that will result going into the same cycle, sure you might have fun during the change but then the same problem will happen again, this game isnt much fun
these days anyways its not like this (in twlb's case) or twl or even tw will make things better or more enjoyable in this downhill time so you better enjoy what you have now until its gone because it will even though it would be fun to have like a 12vs12 or something with no ship restrictions, but thats like asking wbs to play inside a base in a twld game.

                  • evolution of basing over 10 years:

                    lining -> cramming

                    damn things sure have changed

people say 'just get a good jav and you can break a cram'... more often than not, 'good' equates to 'laggy'

for a fun hypothetical situation, remove all lag from one basing game. no matter how good the jav is-unless the opposing team's sharks are retarded- it wont be near as effective in breaking the cram.

diso's using 2 specials is fun to watch and can compete, but ditch all lag from the game... i dont think theyd be doing nearly as well.

all im saying, if you could eliminate all lag from a basing game, everyone would be using 5 spid lineups because theyd work the best. then the fr fight would probably determine the game. just my opinion

so yeah, lets not change a thing. keep hoping for lag to break that cram for you.
