    TWLJ SemiFinals -- HOT OR NOT

    Sweet vs. Cobra

    Round 1

    ==========================================
    Round 1 Highlights:
    Video: http://youtu.be/93sIS4Etjec
    ==========================================

    Sweet opened up the Semi-Finals with a bang as Eelam (13-8), hulk (12-9) and Marge (12-8) lobbed the opening salvos with some potent play, leading the Sweetums factory to a 10-point lead midway -- a gap Cobra would be unable to close.

    Vitja continued his strong post-season with an incisive 9-4, as the group helped carry their wounded leader, Riverside, notching an abysmal 2-7, but managing to stay in the game at least.

    For their part, Cobra managed the early Sweet onslaught well, narrowing the lead several times early on, before fading into the sunset once Cross (5-10) was out halfway with an atrocious performance.

    This killed any chance of the gunmin coming back, with MHz (10-10) the only Cobra player able to stay afloat, as Murder (7-10), flared (6-10) and Infrared/Turbad (6-10) fell late in the match.

    HOT: Eelam, 13-8
    HOT: Marge, 12-8
    HOT: Hulk, 12-9

    NOT: Cross, 5-10 out at the midway point, leaving squad outnumbered for the rest of the game

    ==========================================

    The Cobramin, having been ousted from TWLB by Sweet in the Quarters, came back with a vengeance in Round 2, as TURBAN (20-9) decimated the opposition with an incandescent performance in jav, dropping the hammer on foes left and right without mercy.

    MHz (10-4) and flared (9-6) also brought the thunder, with Murder (7-9) and saetep (3-3) riding their coattails to victory, with only Marge (10-10) able to withstand the electricity.

    Eelam (3-10) and Hulk (4-10) combined for a paltry 7 kills, while Riverside (5-10) fared little better, although Vitja (8-10) almost achieved parity alongside Large Marge.

    This was a dominant 50-31 slaughter with Turbad an unstoppable juggernaut the entire match.

    HOT: Turban, 20-9 Homeric epic
    NOT: Eelam and Hulk, 3-10/4-10 bombs after MVPing Round 1!

    Round 3

    The final showdown pitted these fierce competitors in a grinding 50-42 match that went down to the wire, as once again Marge (14-9) proved to be one of the best javs in today's game posting huge numbers and mesmerizing play, with Vitja (13-7) also demonstrating his abilities, as the duo continued their strong play, leading Sweet.

    saetep (11-10) almost matched them blow-for-blow before finally falling, with Eelam (8-8) and Hulk's (9-8) survival skills late being the diffence as 4 of the 5 Sweet players managed to survive, only Riverside (5-9)/Engineers (0-1) getting knocked out.

    Turban (6-10) could not rekindle the Round 2 magic, leading the Cobramin ship rudderless, as flared (8-10), Murder (8-10) and MHz (5-10) fell one-by-one to the Hello Kitty machine.

    An epic 3-Round battle, great play from both!

    HOT: Marge, 14-9
    HOT: Vitja, 13-8

    Pandora vs. Revenge

    Round 1

    Evil Deed (14-7) led the Navi to a 50-27 dismantling of underdogs Revenge, who've had a great season and been fan favorites.

    Ease (11-5) was not far behind, as the triple-threat and 5x TWLJ champion and Finals MVP showed he's still a force to be reckoned with, with Amputate notching a great 10-3, with Children (10-7) and Zidane (4-5) in tow.

    Cranium, Mean Gene, M_M God, and Rendered couldn't find the X-Factor that helped them past Fierce, with only Zazerick (8-10) approaching parity.

    HOT: Evil Deed, great 14-7 showing

    Round 2

    More of the same, this time a 50-28 massacre, as Ease (15-7), much like last week, led the foray with a sizzling 15-kill MVP performance, followed by Children (11-6), Zidane (8-4), EvilDeed (8-7), and Amputate (6-4).

    Zazerick (9-10) was once again the only player near 1:1.

    HOT: Ease, with a great 15-7, continuing to dominate the playoffs

    HOT Player of the Week: Large Marge, with a scintillating 12-8, 10-10, 14-9 performance, leading his team to a tough win over the resilient Cobra, following up his 14-9 and 7-7 games in the Quarter-Finals -- this guy ever neg?

    The Finals:

    Sweet vs. Pandora

    With no Dice, Thunder, or Sk8, this looks to be the weakest field in TWLJ history, and Pandora have had little competition, and are so stacked they can afford to leave Cape and Fludd on the bench, sweeping the Semis without Rough, while headed by legends Ease, Amputate and Zidane...

    For their part, Eelam, Vitja, hulk and Marge have been playing fantastic, but their lack of depth and the fact they're facing a ridiculously overpowered squad doesn't leave me hopeful for an upset -- though I hope they win

    Pandora handily beat Sweet's starters in the regular season without Ease or Zidane in, so look for Pandora to win this in 2, and Children to win his first medal and write a lengthy treatise on how amazing he is, because defeating basers in the Semi-Final and an undermanned Sweet that starts 4 javs in the Final while on a ridiculously stacked squad that hoarded all the javelins before the season started is the pinnacle of javing achievements. You're amazing.

    Don't forget to exclude the part where you lost to Dudgeon and couldn't beat Sage in your self-indulgent stroke-fest.
