TWDT Hot or Not -- Finals Edition

Big thanks to Markmrw for all the recordings and commentary this season! Also, his incredible Week 4 sharking performance (including two clutch Teks within a minute of each other) that saved our season. Especially that second part!

    TWDT-D

    Brexit vs. Power
    50-42
    Round 1

    Video

Brexit came out of the gate swinging, as Ease (16-9) put in his MJ flu game, severely under the weather and hopped up on dayquil, leading Iron Survivor (12-9) and Omega Red (12-8) to the victory, with Attacks (7-10) and Temujin (3-6) in tow.

Power had a hot start as Okyo led the charge with a 10-2, but quickly went cold and finished with a disappointing 14-10., Ricko (11-10) took control of the Battle for Britain with a solid score, but poor rounds from Bacon (7-10), Weak (4-10), and Henry Saari (6-10) put them in 0-1 hole.

    HOT: Ease (16-9)
NOT: Weak (4-10). Weak came in ice cold after two weeks away, expecting to heat up like this:

But instead ended up like this:

    ---

    Power vs. Brexit
    50-36
    Round 2

    Video

As expected, Zidane shook things up and made some major changes, inserting Semi-Finals hero Raazi (12-6) and 6-Star Sassafras (8-8), who paid instant dividends.

Bacon's (14-8) MVP performance showed that, once again, Zidane saw what others couldn't, astonishing Captains on draft day by taking Bacon in the third round! Ricko continued his solid play with an 8-5, while Okyo posted an 8-9, as Power roared back to take round two.

Brexit fell apart as Iron Survivor (4-5) suffered sudden lag issues, and was unable to play the rest of the Finals. This proved catatatastrophic (little 2005 WB joke for you there), as Attacks' squad lost their top player all season.

Geio (5-5) played well, but Ease, Attacks, Omega, and Temujin all negged.

    HOT: Bacon (14-8)
    HOT: Raazi (12-6)

NOT: temujin (5-10). temujin shot up more rocks than a crack addict, and would mostly likely have earned a high score had he been playing Asteroids.

    ---

    Power vs. Brexit
    50-34
    Round 3

    Video

Bacon once again was sensational, posting a sumptuous 14-6 record, as Ricko (12-6) convincingly claimed the title of Best Warbird in Britain.

Okyo (11-7) once again found his form, lighting Brexit up, ahead of lackluster performances from Raazi (6-7) and Sass (5-8), while Weak (2-0) swooped in for a late mini-spree.

Temujin (10-10) was the lone bright spot for Brexit, as Ease, Attacks, Geio, and Omega Red went into the red.

    HOT: Bacon (14-6)
    HOT: Ricko (12-6)
    HOT: Okyo (11-7)

    TWDT-D Champion: Power (****)

Congratulation to Power on winning back-to-back WB titles! Zidane dominated the draft with excellent, versatile picks and was rewarded with great play from Okyo, Ricko, Raazi, Weak and Beam at 8+ Stars. Bacon was a monster at the 7-Star slot, while Trasher was also excellent. Henry Saari, Sassafras and Ixador were solid at the 6-Star position, and helped their teammates clinch the title.

Power becomes the first squad in TWDT history to win three titles in one league, and ties Terrorist and dun vs. me for the most TWDT championships overall, with four.

This victory thus gives Power a chance to surpass Terrorist should they defeat them in jav.

    Terrorist vs. Power
    50-45
    Round 1

    Video

7-Star superstar Zizzo opened the TWDT-J Finals with a massive salvo hitting friend and foe alike, appearing to drop a Herculean 20-9, although people in spec only realized it was a 17-9 with 3 (!) TKs at the round's conclusion, as he nevertheless led Terrorist to a clutch Round 1 win, 50-45.

Steadman (14-9) was a force all three rounds and Terror's most consistent player, putting in a voracious round one performance to give his team a 1-0 lead. Dreamwin struggled mightily early on, but fought back from a 2-7 start to finish 8-8 with some big plays, while skyforget was abysmal with a 3-9, but, to his credit, managed to stay in the game.

Roiwerk (11-10) continued his assault on the league, leading Trasher (10-10) and Zidane (9-10) to a narrow defeat, losing by 5 after trailing by nearly 15.

Sassafras (5-10) and Ricko (0-5) were uninspiring in jav, while Bacon (5-5) put in a spirited sub that helped propel the comeback.

    HOT: Zizzo (17-9)
    HOT: Steadman (14-9)

NOT: Ricko (0-5). Ricko may be Britain's #1 warbird, but he took a #2 on his team's chances to win this round.

    ---

    Power vs. Terrorist
    50-37
    Round 2

    Video

Again, Zidane proved unafraid to make drastic lineup changes in his pursuit of greatness, removing Ricko and Sassafras for Bacon (11-9) and uprise (6-9), as Power stormed back to even the series at 1-1.

But the real story, unsurprisingly, was Roiwerk, who put in a Titanic 17-7 showing to keep Power's season alive, decimating Terror with aplomb ahead of Zidane (9-6) and Trasher.

Terrorist wilted, as only Kess (10-10) managed to achieve parity, as Dreamwin, Zizzo, Skyforger, and Steadman all went negative.

    HOT: Roiwerk (17-7)
NOT: Zizzo (4-10). Vystradamus knew the choke was coming, much like you know the choke is coming when Megan Rain opens the door for a pizza delivery guy.

    ---

    Power vs. Terrorist
    50-32
    Round 3

    Video

In the final round, Zidane got off to a quick start, going 3-0. Then 4-0. Then 5-0. Then a flurry of laser-guided missiles in succession brought him up to a blistering 8-0 start, which he parlayed into a gargantuan 16-6 dismantling of his long-time TWDT rival.

Uprise (11-8) proved a key piece at the 6-Star, while Bacon continued to be the best 7-Star across all three leagues, notching a 10-8 to clinch a pair of titles. Roiwerk (7-6) and Trasher (5-4) put in solid performances to clinch the win.

Steadman (11-10) once again was the driving force for Terrorist, with aggressive plays, lightning quick reflexes, and the only player going toe-to-toe with Zidane without getting ravaged.

Zizzo (9-10) nearly reached parity, while Kess, Dreamwin, and Skyforger badly negged.

    HOT: Zidane (16-6)

    NOT: Dreamwin (4-10)
NOT: skyforger (1-10). Skyforgery proved a complete fraud in javelin, as he went Chernobyl and completely melted down.

I believe we have video of skyforger and dreamwin in Round 3 from Markmrw:

    TWDT-J Champion: Power (*****)

Felicitations to Power on the Double Crown! This was easily the best final of TWDT 2017, with full lines on both sides, borderline broken low-stars, tons of talent, and exciting action that went the full three rounds.

Terrorist looked incredibly formidable taking down the favorites in Brexit, but fell just short against a deep Power team.

With this victory, Power leapfrogs Terrorist to become the winngest squad in TWDT history, and the only team to ever win five championships!

Dreamwin will get his chance to reclaim the title of winningest captain in TWDT should he choose to captain again this fall. But until then, to the victor go the spoils. I'm sure Zidane will enjoy reveling in this achievement.

    TWDT-B

    Video courtesy of Markmrw

For the second consecutive season, the TWDT-B Finals proved inferior to the Semi-Finals. While Terrorist was on the other end of the beat down last season, they were the victims this time around.

The best playoff series was, without a doubt, Baratheon vs. Power, which produced 15-11 and 15-13 games that were incredibly close, hard fought, and exciting. Had TWDT Ops done a better job of processing appeals and fixing arena issues, the seeding would have been different and likely produced a final where #1 Power was going for the Triple Crown after winning jav and wb, with only Baratheon in the way, and been one of the most hyped TWDT-B Finals ever.

    Baratheon vs. Terrorist
    15:00-10:26
    Round 1

    Video

Baratheon and Terrorist met in the TWDT-B Finals for the second time in three seasons, the last matchup producing an instant classic.

The series unfortunately did not live up to the hype. Baratheon once again threw away an early lead to Dreamwin's switch to warbird mid-game, but Terrorist lacking their best shark in Dwopple proved a crippling blow, and prevented this Final from joining the ranks of the 2011, 2014, 2015, and 2016 (Winter) Finals as a feast for the eyes as Baratheon showed a full line.

This Week 3 matchup between Baratheon and Terrorist, both showing full lines, is what the Final should have been:

Ogron (33-6) terred ahead of hulk (3.0 RPD, 2 Teks) and porkjet (2.9 RPD), as Baratheon's sharks had their way with Terrorist all game.

Cripple (133-49) continued to dominate in spider as he had all season alongside Spezza (121-36) and TJ Hazuki (107-68) over. Banks (86-43) and Holy Ship (61-59) took under as they had all season, both winning their first ever basing titles.

3-time TWDT-B champion Mikkiz (23-8) played valiantly attempting to keep his team in the game (including an exciting port trap on the flag that produced a double-tek and race!), but bellflowers (2.9 RPD) and Mr. Homo (2.6 RPD) were outmatched by their counterparts.

Kess (92-61) was a force under, but it wasn't enough as Zizzo (93-71), skyforger (79-79), and zeebu (68-62) were outkilled. Dreamwin (77-69) sparked a comeback that breathed life into the Finals late in the first round thanks to some inspired warbirding, producing an impressive 4 teks, but Baratheon eventually managed to get their act together and close it out

    HOT: Cripple (133-49)
HOT: Hulk (3.0 RPD, 2 Teks)

    NOT: Dwopple, for not showing.

    Baratheon
    vs. Terrorist
    15:00-5:33
    Round 2

    Video

Ogron (34-2) terred ahead of hulk (3.1 RPD) and porkjet (2.6 RPD) as Baratheon completed their basing journey, after a miraculous comeback against Brexit's full line Week 4, staving off elimination, then taking on #1 Power (8-2) in a hotly contested Semi-Finals, and earning a hard-fought Finals berth, claiming the title in straight sets against their longtime mortal enemy.

    Cripple (108-39) and Spezza (97-51), as they have been all season, were unstoppable in spider, while TJ Hazuki (76-65) coolly collected back-to-back TWDT-B titles, spamming T E R R O R I S T 2 0 1 6 and B A R A T H E O N 2 0 1 7 in chat like an idiot.

Kado (67-31) made his playoff debut for Baratheon, nabbing his first basing title, alongside 6-Star stalwart Banks (58-30), who started every game this season.

For Terrorist, Mikkiz (23-8) found little room to operate, while Mr. Homo (2.8 RPD) and bellflowers (2.5 RPD) couldn't gain traction in shark.

Kess (81-63) showed grit and determination with a stirring performance, but Ra, Zizzo, Zeebu, and skyforger trailed him by 20-30 kills.

Dreamwin's warbird gambit backfired this round, as Ogron aggressively danced across the flagroom, whizzing and warping around with alacrity, as DW managed 0 teks.

Terrorist fell short this season, but they lost to two stacked opponents, and have nothing to be ashamed about. They continue to be a force in TWDT, reaching an incredible 8 of 9 Finals over the last three seasons. Amazing!

Hopefully they'll return to re-claim their throne as the winningest team in history next season.

    HOT: Spezza (97-51)
    HOT: Ogron (34-2, 2 teks)

NOT: Dreamwin (50-64, 0 teks). Shifting into warbird worked well in previous round (as well as Week 3), but was an unmitigated disaster this time around as Baratheon adapted and adjusted, netting 0 teks and causing Terrorist to get run over. Dreamwin got bullied so hard in the FR that Netflix recommends 13 Reasons Why after you watch Round 2 of these Finals.

    TWDT-B Champion: Baratheon (***)

Congrats to Baratheon on winning their record third title in base!

Their big five of Cripple, Spezza, Hulk, porkjet and Ogron proved too much for anyone to handle, while Holy Ship, Banks, Kado, and TJ Hazuki consistently pushed and sacrificed for the team with ugly scores and little glory, but their grit-and-grind approach netted them a championship ring for their fantastic efforts.

Ogron's team continues to be Terrorist's bane in base, and remains the only team to ever defeat them, and ended up being the only thing stopping Power from a Triple Crown, which they would have likely won had they played in Baratheon's stead given their strength.

    Top Players

    Top 10 Warbirds

    1. Okyo (Power)
Okyo reached his third consecutive warbird final (2 TWDT-D, 1 TWLD), and led his team to the 2017 championship with ferocious dives and an uncompromising mentality. He finally broke through and clinched his first TWDT-D after making the finals three times in the last four seasons, dominating both the playoffs and the regular season.

    2. Iron Survivor (Brexit)
Iron Survivor won his third consecutive Scoring Title (2 TWDT-D, 1 TWLD), as the Brazilian blur continues to rampage across the warbirding world. He won Round 1 of the Finals only to experience severe lag issues, preventing him from winning back-to-back titles as his team faultered without him.

    3. Ricko (Power)
The best warbird in Britain finally claimed a WB title after 247 attempts, with a stellar regular season and a sumptuous Finals performance that propelled Power to glory.

    4. Raazi (Power)
TWLD 20 champion Raazi decided that the regular season is for chumps, completely forgetting about TWDT and only showing up after an emergency skype message from beam. He walked into the Semi-Finals not having played in two months, and completely dominated. He then showed up finals, and decimated Brexit with gusto as he claimed his second TWDT-D title in four seasons.

    5. Ogron (Baratheon)
Ogron was a beast in the regular season, finishing #2 in the TWDT-D Scoring Race, with a 108-87 record and helping propel a team ranked dead last in previews to the #3 seed and reaching the Semi-Finals.

    6. Lasenza (Paladin)
Lasenza was almost unstoppable for Paladin during the regular season, with an envious 12-8 average over seven games, but sadly didn't show to the Semi-Final.

    7. Bacon (Power)
Bacon dropped 19 in the first game of the season, then didn't show until just before the playoffs. He rewarded that patience with dominant performances in the TWDT-D Finals, going 14-8 in the penultimate round and 14-6 in the final round to finish Brexit off.

    8. Ease (Brexit)
Ease instantly turned Brexit into the top contender upon his arrival, with solid scores in the regular season and a few stellar outings in the playoffs, including a 16-9 in the Finals and a 13-5 in the Semis.

    9. vys (Paladin)
vys was lethal when he showed in the regular season, and almost Paladin's savior in the Semi-Finals when their entire team failed to show, notching 15-3 and 13-10 performances against a much better line.

    10. Kentaro (Baratheon)
Kentaro was the second part of the four-headed beast (along with Spezza and Racketeer) that guided Baratheon to the playoffs, returning to his old form and nearly upsetting much deeper stacked squads.

Honorable Mention: Spezza (Baratheon), Mythril (ALF), Weak (Power), Omega Red (Brexit), beam (Power), Geio (Brexit), Attacks (Brexit), Blazier (Baratheon), not u (ALF), Racketeer (Baratheon), Trasher (Power), Temujin (Brexit).

    Top 10 Javelins

    1. Zidane (Power)
Zidane was the fucking Grim Reaper in TWDT-J this season, posting an insane 268 GameScore across the regular season and playoffs (you can see a select list of the top javs here), which adds your Kills to your Plus-Minus. He also closed out Terrorist in Round 3 of the Finals with a Galactus-like 16-6 to win the championship.

    2. Roiwerk (Power)
If Zid is Batman, Roi was Superman, because Robin wouldn't put up a ridiculous 224 GameScore, more than 50 ahead of third place. Roiwerk practically won Round 2 of the TWDT-J Finals by himself, recording an absurd 17-7 to keep Power's season alive.

    3. Turban (ALF)
Turban was the #1 javelin in the regular season, and despite his terrible team not making the playoffs, still ranks third in GameScore when INCLUDING playoffs. Amazing. He averaged an unheard of 14-9 average on a losing team, and was outstanding throughout the campaign.

    4. Steadman (Terrorist)
Steadman had a mediocre season and Semi-Finals, but practiced for a week straight before the Finals, and it paid off, as he was the dominant force on Terrorist, leading the push, being aggressive, and posting 14-9 and 11-10 scores in a tough loss, and the only player able to give Zid trouble on the map.

    5. Dreamwin (Terrorist)
Dreamwin had an excellent regular season, and beasted the Semi-Finals, knocking out heavy favorites Brexit in the process. Despite a lackluster Finals performance, he still got them there, and finished 5th overall in GameScore.

    6. temujin (Brexit)
Temujin was instrumental in Brexit clinching the #1 seed in TWDT-J, finishing #6 in GameScore and posting a strong 13-10 in the Semi-Finals in the only round he played, but couldn't salvage poor performances from his teammates.

    7. Kess (Terrorist)
Kess had a strong season, helping Terrorist make the playoffs and dominating the Semi-Finals against #1 Brexit with 12-9 and 14-6 scores to propel them into the Finals. He was solid, if unspectacular, in the Finals, where they almost won the title.

    8. Zizzo (Terrorist)
Zizzo was the most broken 7-Star player this year, having a good season, an above-average Semi-Finals, and a superb Finals. He destroyed Power Round 1 with a 17-9 MVP, then notched a 10-10 in Round 3.

    9. 24 (Paladin)
24 led Paladin to the Semi-Finals, finishing Top 10 in GameScore, and sizzling Power with a 15-8 performance in Round 1 before floundering.

    10. Bacon (Power)
Bacon once again bloomed at the right moment, decimating Paladin in the Semis with 11-4 and 12-10 scores, then lighting up Terrorist in the Finals with 10-8 and 11-9 performances.

Honorable Mention: Ease (Brexit), uprise (Power), Trasher (Power), Kira (Paladin), Mean Gene (Paladin), Commodo (Brexit), Ricko (Power), Omega Red (Brexit)

    Top 15 Basers

    1. Cripple (Baratheon)
Cripple MVP'd every round of the playoffs, leading his team in kills in every game he played, amassing the most kills of anyone this season, and the highest KPG on a per minute basis as well. What else needs to be said? He salvaged a losing game to help save their season in shark to boot, winning his first title in several years, keeping his team calm while porkjet spammed PANIC!

    2. Spezza (Baratheon)
How do you overcome the TWDT-B basing curse of no team using 3 high-star players in Terr/Shark/Shark (due to lack of spider power) ever winning the title? Simple, have two spiders do the work of three! Spezza was an absolute monster in spider all year, with massive scores, high-IQ plays, and some of the best work in the enemy ear anyone has ever seen. What a season!

    3. Zidane (Power)
Hands down the best shark in the game, Zidane almost toppled Baratheon in the Semi-Finals after leading them to the #1 Seed with an earth-shattering 8-2 record, narrowly missing out on reaching his seventh consecutive basing final, all while playing with a 6-Star shark partner. Impressive!

    4. Kess (Terrorist)
Kess ate enemy spiders alive under, dominating in every phase of the game and leading Terrorist into the Finals with aplomb. He decimated everyone he faced, and took his team as far as they could go.

    5. Hulk (Baratheon)
Hulk was half of the strongest shark duo in TWDT-B, and boy, what a half! He ran over every line he faced, amassed a ton of Teks with incisive shrap and sizzling bombs, mining the living hell out of the enemy side, earning his first title in shark. Fun fact: Hulk didn't lose a single round this season. He went completely undefeated in TWDT-B.

    6. Trasher (Power)
Trasher is one of the best spiders in the zone going on 10 years, and this season was no different. He was Power's dominant force over, leading them into the Semi-Finals where they narrowly lost out to the eventual champions.

    7. Ogron (Baratheon)
After a mostly forgettable regular season, Ogron turned it on in the playoffs, reaching his sixth consecutive basing final in terr, posting scores of 42-4, 36-6, 33-6, and 34-2 against Power and Terrorist to claim his fifth basing title.

    8. Dreamwin (Terrorist)
Dreamwin reached his third consecutive TWDT-B Final, as the defending champion once again had a stellar season in spider, leading Terrorist to the Championship Match, where he did his best to muddy the waters with Warbird, as the captain continues to find ways to maximize his winning chances.

    9. Okyo (Power)
This man was a relevation in spider, playing like a 9-Star and MVP'ing round after round, dominating over with the fiercest trio in TWDT-B, consisting of Trasher, M_M God, and Okyo. They nearly unseated the champs, and were a force to be reckoned with behind Zidane's aggressive sharking.

    10. Porkjet (Baratheon)
Poopjet was excellent when he wasn't actively trying to singlehandedly destroy Baratheon's season with arena errors, Mother's Day absences, and random disappearing acts due to relatives unexpectedly showing up at his door. When he was in game, he instilled confidence in others by spamming PANIC! and constantly reminding me I once traded him once in TWDT, with the subtle implication I could expect a TK at any moment. Deserved every single one of the 27 NOTs Trasher gave him.

    11. Mythril (ALF)
Mythril was the living embodiment of a Scythe in TWDT-B, rampaging across the screen and reaping havoc on the enemy side, and powering ALF to a surprise 7-3 record in base and a #2 seed, despite a bare-bones basing roster that had no business making the playoffs.

    12. Mikkiz (Terrorist)
Mikkiz turned Terrorist from very good team to outright contender the second Dreamwin picked him up in Free Agency, and he provided instant dividends, propelling his squad to the #3 Seed with great play that granted them a third consecutive Finals berth, as dikkiz reached his fourth TWDT-B Final since 2011.

    13. Turban (ALF)
The best spider over the past several years' streak of 3 consecutive basing championships is over, but he nevertheless led ALF to a stunning Semi-Finals appearance after overachieving all season, in part thanks to his dastardly aggressive play and natural talent.

    14. Beasty (ALF)
Beasty proved himself a legitimate threat in shark this season, as he and Mythril were key pieces in ALF's surprise playoff run that caught the basing world off-guard and precipitated a shocking Brexit elimination. Nice work!

    15. Markmrw (Baratheon)
Markmrw made some huge leaps this season, going from solid shark to legitimate threat, as he transformed himself into an impact player through hard work and watching tape of past greats, and was one of the main reasons Baratheon won the title, with his 100% showrate, great attitude, and heroics in Week 4 against Brexit that turned the tides and granted them the final playoff spot, including a pair of amazing teks on Pressure at a critical juncture.

Honorable Mention: M_M God (Power), Reaver (ALF), beam (Power), Rozay (ALF), TJ Hazuki (Baratheon), Zizzo (Terrorist), Commodo (Brexit), Vehicle (Power), Ease (Brexit), skyforger (Terrorist), Pressure (Brexit), Banks (Baratheon), mcvicar (Brexit), Ricko (Power), Zeebu (Terrorist)

    TWDT History

The TWDT History graphic is available in the top left corner of every TWDT arena.

The Winning team is in the top, gold bordered box, while the Runner-Up is in the bottom, silver bordered box.

The names are generally ordered by magnitude of contribution, heavily weighed for the playoffs, from top left to bottom right (with the exception of base, where the terr and sharks who started the finals are always listed first for aesthetic purposes).

The Finals starters are generally the first players listed. Exceptions include size of name, mitigating circumstances, and human error.

    Final Thoughts

    Final Thoughts

First and foremost, a big thanks to Henry Saari, Qan and all the other mods, hosts, ops, and writers who contributed to making TWDT happen. Always a thankless and underappreciated task. A lot of people stepped up to handle the load this season, which was great to see.

Power and Terrorist, unsurprisingly, dominated the season, although Paladin had a dominant season in TWDT-D and TWDT-J before no shows in the Semi-Finals took them down. Brexit seemed like a lock to win TWDT-J until Terrorist upset them, and had perhaps the best team on paper in TWDT-B, shockingly missing the playoffs.

ALF looked like a complete dud in TWDT-B, yet finished an astounding 7-3, while Baratheon was pegged as the worst TWDT-D team in the league, going an impressive 6-4 and reaching the Semi-Finals. Jessup's team was predicted to implode, yet he stayed the course and had a successful season.

Brexit nearly won TWDT-D, but fell just short in the Finals after a stellar season.

Power achieved the double crown, Baratheon won base, and Terrorist reached 8 out of 9 possible finals in three years.

    ---

Look for TWDT to return this Fall, with signups beginning in September or October.

In the meantime, please give TSL a shot! It will be running all summer, with weekday games (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday) and a big Sunday slate using the same times as TWDT.

The teams are randomized, and you advance personally, so there's no worry about being stuck on a bad team all season, and you also don't need to show every game. It's the perfect summer league, and if you play well enough, you could earn one of 10 TSL All-Star medals in WB and Jav, or one of 16 TSL All-Star medals in Base, and a berth to the TSL Finals, featuring the best players in the game.

You can learn more about it here.

Congratulations to power, I'd love to make a excuse about iron survivor lagging out, but really me and ease just didnt play well enough and we were kept pressed across two rounds. So I blame myself for the loss.
I'd like to thank various people who showed and did their best for me all season. Thanks to Commodo and pressure for help running things while I wasn't there, olde for drafting a amasing free agency and iron survivor/ease my wingmen.
Thanks to Omega red, Temujin, mcvicar and geio also who were great.
Sorry we couldn't quite make it guys.

Claus you were way too kind on me on the jav HON. I played like ass all 3 games, with two 5-10 scores and being the first out in all 3 games. Definetly far from my best. I feel like we would have won TWDTJ if i played up to my standards.
Regarding basing, we got outplayed bad. Our team never really clicked and the first game was only closer because DW was bailing us out with TEKs. Its a shame we missed 1/2 key players, or we might had made it a challenge.
Although im disappointed we lost both finals, we had a pretty good season. We turned the season around in base reaching the finals on a 6-0 streak and we managed to beat the jav favorites in the semis with a strong 2-0. Our team suffered due to 2 of our 4 picks(havok/dwopple) showing a grand total of 1 game, and in big games it showed.

Thanks to staff for organizing all this, the players who played and all the captains who did a great job at drafting.

great write up as usual, cheers claus.

My 0-5 in the jav final will haunt me - other than that I'd had a very good season by my standards (looking at the jav stats it looks like if I had played in rounds 2 and 3 I'd probably have statistically finished top 5 in jav) so that bad round cost me a chance to play in the remaining rounds and a chance to prove I can (somewhat) jav!

Congrats to my Power compatriots, we had a great season and hopefully some of us can be drafted on the same teams in the next TWDT.

Thanks to Zid who despite freaking out when we lost basing matches (and ignoring me after r1 of the jav final) was a top captain in both performance and how he handled his team.

Thanks for the great season boys, it was an honor flying with, and against some of the best birds in the game. It sucks of course that Brexit could not bring it home but we played a deep and skilled team of champions.

Thanks to staff for making this season possible, which many thought it would be a failure. Despite everything, I think it was generally successful and a fun run.

Also thanks to the captains who took the time to do their homework and draft great teams. I've been a captain of draft squads in the past and it's always a challenge keeping everyone engaged and happy.

Maybe next TWDT I'll have a lower rating for base so I can play more... think i went 2-0 as a spid and 1-0 as a shark, but I got sat for some garbage FA pickups. It is what it is. I get no credit in the only division I care about.
