  • TSL Starts June 18th

Just a reminder, TSL starts NEXT Sunday, June 18th, 2017.

I misspoke earlier today when I said it was this Sunday, and was a little too ambitious in wanting to grab TWDT momentum before players disappeared for the summer. There are still some bot, hosting, and other issues that need to be worked through before we can start.

    TSLD -- 3:00pm EST
    TSLD -- 3:30pm EST
    TSLJ -- 4:00pm EST
    TSLJ -- 4:30pm EST
    TSLB -- 5:00pm EST
    TSLB -- 5:30pm EST

    Just show up and play.

There are no teams, and bots have been programmed to randomize and balance, and start building up your personal $ value in all three leagues.

The 10 most valuable WBs during the summer season will win the TSL All-Star medal, and receive an invite to the TSLD Finals.
The 10 most valuable Javs during the summer season will win the TSL All-Star medal, and receive an invite to the TSLJ Finals.
The 16 most valuable Basers during the summer season will win the TSL All-Star medal, and receive an invite to the TSLB Finals.

Those players will then have a chance to win TSLD, TSLJ, and TSLB medals should they prove victorious in the Finals.

Remember, there are two categories to reach the Finals. Overall value, and Sunday-only value for players who can't make it to the Weekday games. 50% of finals spots are reserved for both.

For more info, check out the TSL forums here.

I believe there is a slight change, and you have to type !signup to the TSL bot in order for it to include you when it randomizes the teams every time slot.

This helps mods keep track of players and reduces their need to alias check as the season goes on.

Please remember that aliasing is not allowed, and to use your main name.

The bot will separate the top 4 javs onto four different teams, but if you're using the name Ziddy Kong instead of Zidane, it loses its ability to do its job.

Mods will be alias checking throughout TSL, please don't try to cheat.

    Thanks!

I know a lot of people said they wont show due to this not being as competitive as twld and twdt, lets all try and make the first few weeks to get this on the road for new players, if not for yourselfs show for the zone.

While i dont expect the games to be highly skilled, due to everyone getting to play, i expect the competition for the top spots to be fierce. im pretty sure we will see alot of try hards

Games will be skilled as veterans and newer players are distributed to teams evenly in similar fashion to TWDT but without star caps/limits, of course. Therefore the more vets sign up, the more competitive the league will be (ratio of veterans per team rises, with good percentage of vets signing up we could be looking towards playing base games with 3-4 8-10 star players per team, few 7 stars and probably 2 lower rated), depending on how many players are online - this seems rather much like TWDT but it is entirely up to who registers. Remember this league measures your individual skill more than team performance.

Will players have a rating at start like in TWDT? and wont cumulative player performance during the league effect how bot does teams?

Not rating but evenly distributed to make more even teams. Don't think it affects the team making during the season - it's random each time and obviously linked to who shows up etc. Read what Ogron wrote about it.

I'll play if I am a 4-star player in all leagues.

It's a mix of randomness and skill.

If there's 32 players ready to base, it will create 4 teams for two 8v8 games.

If Zidane, Kess, Ogron, Mikkiz, Trasher, and 27 newbies are ready to play, it will separate Zidane/Ogron/Mikkiz/Trasher onto 4 separate teams (they all terr or shark at a high level), then it will put Kess somewhere. The skill coding prevents those 4 high-skill players who play specialized ships from being on the same team, but the random coding means that if the same 5 veterans and 27 newbies play the next game, the teams will almost certainly be different. It's weighed enough that it won't put Zidane/Kess/Ogron on the same team ever, but at the same time who gets Kess as the 5th veteran for 4 teams will be different.

If someone makes a huge leap skillwise, we can make a change to someone's matchmaking rating, but in general they will not need to be changed, and are not linked to your performance in TSL.

The test randomizations have proved successful, but we'll see how Sunday goes. I don't foresee it being an issue at all.
