I've heard "Russian national" used a lot in this situation. Very illustrative of the deceptive nature of these kinds of reports.

The reason the term "Russian national" is used in this context is that it sounds simultaneously more insidious and more official, while literally still just meaning "Russian citizen". "Russian citizen" lacks the punch needed to get people coming back to the infofeed and buying your advertiser's products, though, so you've gotta ramp it up with "Russian national." As far as I'm aware, those charged have not been linked to any government agency. Same goes for the term "Russian hackers." The implication, again, is "Russian hackers employed by the Russian state." Yet there is little evidence of that -- as far as I'm aware. Some of the so-called "hacks" are ... heh ... portscans. Portscans initiated from an IP inside the Russian Federation. Right now, I could start a VPN, get a Russian IP, and portscan the DNC. (It's not even illegal to do.) Look, Ma! I'm a Russian hacker! She'd be so proud.

The point is: Russian, Chinese, Israeli, American, French, German, Brazilian and Thai nationals are all posing as activitists in the US and elsewhere. This is not new information. Disinfo campaigns, whether financed by government agencies or NGOs, are a fact of life. The US also tries to actively influence Russian elections. The CIA is in loose, de facto control of many small governments by proxy. "Troll farms" exist and exert influence, and are probably a necessary component of any even moderately-sized political campaign in today's world. Does this mean "democracy is hacked!!!," and we will never be safe again? No. It means we've got to use our heads to analyze what we read and hear, form our own opinions, and not rely on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram for our news. (Or any small set of sources, for that matter, particularly not non-print sources that are ideologically-aligned and are designed to be difficult to process while triggering emotional responses, such as MSNBC, Fox News, Infowars, CNN, /pol/, NPR, Russia Today, Voice of America, etc.)

Because it's an advertisement for a product, the stated intent of which is to kill people. You'd have to be pretty naive about the workings of the world, or a sociopath, for that stuff not to bother you.

lol a former head of CIA was on fox news the other day and straight up said the US interferes in elections all the time, except we 'do it for a good cause' or whatever

        here's an interesting article: https://medium.com/s/story/the-singu...s-3e280baa045c

From a financial point of view, Amazon doesn’t behave much like a successful 21st-century company. Amazon has not bought back its own stock since 2012. Amazon has never offered its shareholders a dividend. Unlike its peers Google, Apple, and Facebook, Amazon does not hoard cash. It has only recently started to record small, predictable profits. Instead, whenever it has resources, Amazon invests in capacity, which results in growth at a ridiculous clip. When the company found itself with $13.8 billion lying around, it bought a grocery chain for $13.7 billion. As the Recode story referenced above summarizes in one of the graphs: “It took Amazon 18 years as a public company to catch Walmart in market cap, but only two more years to double it.” More than a profit-seeking corporation, Amazon is behaving like a planned economy.
casual reminder that corporations are literally just as bad as "muh gubmints"

i dont know why ive never actually looked at the wiki page for "privatization", in one sentence i learned that 1) nazis cant be socialist if they literally invented the concept of privatization and 2) people who want the government to privatize things are literally advocating for nazi programs

Every day the pieces fall into place. If the piece doesn't fit consider that there's another puzzle, but if they fit then you don't just stop putting it together because you don't like the picture it's making. Every time you get some new information put it to the puzzle and see where it fits logically speaking. That said I think it's just coincidence that Republicans are racist and happen to enjoy the economic benefits that privatization brings them. I'm sure some of them are actually quite close to being Nazis to be fair. I find it more interesting that they would call themselves 'socialists' while doing everything the opposite. It's like people can just say shit and there's so many bozos in the world (kings of their world of course, where they made $50 extra last paycheck for doing the same work yet don't see that as unfair) that they just don't give a fuck and vote for the guy who appeals to them emotionally. Appealing to human emotion is like appealing to a fucking cesspool because people are tuned more towards negative emotion than positive so you get some of the worst atrocities in history simply by appealing to the common person's emotional side. Quite dangerous if you think about it, emotions that is.

People who see the world without emotion are blessed with either psychopathy (and may become quite successful in their evil acts) or autism. My understanding of the people without either of these disorders is that logic might as well be a 25th century concept because FUCK YOU we're worshipping God, bitch. Demons, bitch. The world is a fucking magical fairy tale where God never shows up but the consequences of our actions appear perpetually as if it's cause-and-effect. But fuck you, we're believing in angels, gaybo. When you're already willing to believe in such fantasy then your reality is much easier to manipulate, since you already know they're willing to believe in something with zero evidence beyond a book written 150 years after the fact.

Anyway I found this gem of a picture off of reddit:

I love Ben Carson's reason for not taking a cabinet position in Trump's whitehouse despite being offered: "The last thing he [Ben Carson] would want to do was take a position that could cripple the presidency." Yet he ran for the fucking presidency, against Trump. And that's the guy you want operating on your brain lmao ffs.

There was another thing I saw about the ice caps. I'll save you a minute of your life and tell you the arctic is shrinking!!! over the past 40-50 years we've been recording, or so, with the total area decreasing by some small yet significant amount (around 10-15%) but the real thick ice that reflects the most light back has declined by a far greater amount, somewhere in the range of 75-85%. It's not insignificant.

Cool fact that I at least didn't know: the US aircraft carriers (the huge and fast ships out in the middle of the ocean that lead the fleet) are freaking nuclear powered, bitch. Btw is Ironman not the coolest superhero? He made his own power through science. He's the civ that's like, we're going to build roads, walls around every town, 65%ranged,25%melle,10%support, use builder (w/ infinite build mod) to clear everything and tech up to better and better ranged units, upgrade them and turtle even when they question your military. Deal with the barbarians. Ok maybe it's not exactly the same.. Ironman fuses the nuclear with biology...perhaps not today but 100 years in the future maybe. It's kind of difficult to move forward though if you're unwilling to deal with a threat (global warming) because that problem won't just go away without awareness and solutions. Coal is not a long-term solution, it is cheap and quick and so are the consequences evidently. We've recovered the Ozone (apparently?) and the Arctic is recoverable too, thankfully, because it is a reversible process. If the Arctic fully melted we could just build a white shiny thing and house it there 365 days a year, use it for something like a international space base where we combine all the nations after we've tried our hardest to solve evidently eradicatable problems such as disease, malnutrition, housing/poverty, mental wellness and happiness, unsustainable environmental practices, disarmament, respectable values, and so on. As I say people would rather hold the negative emotions because they are so powerful. Healthy mind, conscience, and body. It's true that nobody can be perfect, so the past you must be forgiven, and let go of as "you today" while retaining the experiences. To do something today because it agrees with what you did yesterday, and the day before, rather than what could agree with now, and the future. Do I have to explain the mistake in that? See everyone would read this and agree and say of course that's so obvious but where do they implement this? Why would Trump target Mexicans in New York and shit with families? Is that the dangerous guy? Does it all on the taxpayer (YOUR) dollar and you ride along like hehe that tickles my bum too! dingle berry cucks. I mop up these cucks like nothing else I wouldn't be surprised if these Russians with fake ids all voted too what a joke. Russian mafia in your government I can't wait until myself and people like me aren't allowed to post THIS message and messages LIKE THIS... I take it VERY seriously! The threat is here in Canada, too, and it's all these old fucks and pedophiles in Hollywood and fuck dude this world is crazy fucked up I just want to skateboard when it warms up like DUDE. Lol.

hey kthx, if the media is so "liberal", and if "liberals" are all socialists, why was this teachers' strike, where every single teacher in every single school in every single city in west virginia went on strike for 9 days, not covered by the mainstream media until today - and even then, only 30-second blurbs and brief mentions?

fuck the capitalists, fuck the union fat cats, over the past week we've witnessed an entire people organize for better working conditions. they SHUT DOWN the entire state's education system. they held out. they told the union fat cats to fuck off when the unions agreed to a measly compromise that would have not actually resulted in a raise. (look up the term "wildcat strike")

but thats not all. the teachers also organized food drives to feed kids who depended on the school lunch program. they held workshops and classes to continue working with students studying for SAT/ACT tests, AP tests, and other standardized tests.

and what did the teachers get? they got a raise... not just for the teachers: for every state employee in west virginia.

                            --

i always avoid making bold predictions cuz i hate thinking that i might be wrong... but then, whenever i'm right, i regret not posting the prediction

so fuck it im gonna make a prediction, so i can quote it later and make fun of kthx:

this teacher strike might be one of the most significant events of the past decade. our politicians (not just republicans tbh) have all but destroyed unions, they have destroyed workers' rights, they have destroyed the ability for workers to bargain with their employers. and you know, they really thought they had finally smashed the working class down into permanent obedience... they really thought they could announce cuts all across the board to medicare, welfare, and other programs while also transferring 1.8trillion in tax cuts to the richest corporations and individuals.

and republicans are so fucking stupid that while this strike was going on, republican pundits were screaming "arm the teachers! arm the teachers!", completely oblivious that teachers were ready to go on strike without the added burden of learning to use a gun and becoming a part-time cop.

and republicans are SO FUCKING STUPID that they caved like little fucking bitches. they didn't even reach a compromise... they straight up caved to the demands of the teachers. so, if you're keeping count... a group of workers demanded higher wages, they organized in order to get higher wages, they ignored the original compromise proposed by the government, they ignored their union bosses who told them to accept the compromise, they went for the whole shebang - and got exactly what they wanted... and more, since -every- public employee is now getting a raise

so. once again. keep on yapping about "welfare queens" and "muh socialism", keep on supporting these budget cuts and attacks on our social safety nets. keep telling yourself that the people who complain are "lazy" or "entitled". because you know what? in the past week i've been having conversations with friends of mine who are teachers, and suddenly they seem far, far more receptive to the shit i talk about than they did 2 weeks ago. they now see that solidarity and organizing DO work. they are now educating themselves. they are getting curious, and naturally, daddy jerome is here to help them find their way.

i mean, i'm always hopeful... but for the first time i can now see the possibility of being involved in a general strike, in louisiana, in my lifetime. fucking crazy.

i fucking love 2018, here's to hoping we see more direct action like this

edit: no seriously, go look up the term "wildcat strike", and consider why the word "wildcat" is used, what the word is a reference to, etc
